Overview
Our Internship Program offers students and young professionals the opportunity to gain practical experience while making a meaningful contribution to our local community in Luang Prabang, Laos. Interns work alongside our dedicated Lao teachers and staff to support English education and community development.
No previous teaching experience is required. Before starting, all interns receive an orientation and basic training to help them feel confident in their role
Your Internship Role
Your responsibilities will depend on your skills, experience, and the needs of our
community. You may be involved in a variety of activities, including:
- Help students improve their pronunciation, listening, reading, and speaking skills.
- Organize educational games and interactive classroom activities.
- Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials.
- Assist local teachers during English classes.
- Teaching methods and classroom management
- Support community projects and special events.
- Share your skills in areas such as marketing, social media, administration, or project development, depending on your background and interests.

positive attitude and a willingness to learn and support our communit
Application Requirements
English speakers
Able to communicate in English at an intermediate level. Native fluency is not required.
No experience needed
No teaching certification or qualification required. Just bring flexibility and an open mind.
Required documents
Clean criminal record, a current CV, passport copy, emergency contact and travel insurance.
Age 18+
Open to all adults. Under-18s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Typical Working Hours
Interns usually work 4–6 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Working hours may vary depending on class schedules, special events and community activities. Evenings and weekends are generally free for relaxation, sightseeing, or independent travel
Internship Duration
Internships are flexible and available from 4 to 12 weeks, depending on your university requirements and availability.

Where you will stay
We want every volunteer to feel comfortable, safe and at home during their stay in Laos. Volunteers are accommodated in clean and comfortable private rooms located close to the project, allowing easy access to the classroom and the surrounding community.

Meals
Breakfast is provided daily, while lunch and dinner are included on weekdays during the project. Volunteers also have free time to explore Luang Prabang, visit local markets, enjoy cafés, discover nearby waterfalls and temples, or relax along the Mekong River.
Weekends are a great time to experience the culinary diversity of Luang Prabang. The city offers a wide range of restaurants serving Lao, Thai, Indian, Chinese and Western cuisines all at affordable prices. A local food market, located just a 3-minute walk from the guesthouse, is famous for its street food and an all you can eat vegetarian buffet for only $2. Restaurants in town are generally open from early morning until late at night.
Free time on the weekend
Volunteer schedules are intentionally designed to be flexible, allowing ample opportunity to experience the rich culture of Laos and the UNESCO-listed city of Luang Prabang. From natural wonders like caves, lagoons and rice fields to a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking, there is much to enjoy. Within the city, volunteers can unwind in a relaxed atmosphere, sample local and international dishes and explore historic temples and bustling markets.

As a locally managed non-profit organization, English Club Laos receives no government funding or ongoing external financial support. Every program fee is reinvested directly into providing free and affordable English education, maintaining our classrooms, developing educational resources, supporting local teachers and expanding learning opportunities for local people.
