English Club Laos (ECL) is a locally managed, non-profit English learning community
based in the heart of Luang Prabang, Laos. Our mission is to provide accessible,
high-quality English education while creating meaningful cultural exchange through
international volunteering.
OUR PROGRAMS
Volunteer Opportunities in Laos
Teaching Program
Duration: 1 - 12 weeks
Support local teachers, inspire students and experience authentic Lao culture. Volunteers help with conversation practice, interactive lessons and classroom activities, No teaching experience is required, just confidence in English, enthusiasm and a willingness to make a positive
Internship Program
Duration: 4 - 12 weeks
Develop professional skills while contributing to a community-based education project. Interns support educational and development initiatives, gaining practical experience in leadership, teamwork, cross-cultural communication and project management. Ideal for students, graduates and future professionals.
Summer Program
Duration: 2 weeks
Experience an unforgettable summer in Luang Prabang through volunteering, cultural immersion and adventure. Support local communities, help improve education and village projects, and build lasting friendships while exploring one of Southeast Asia's most beautiful destinations.

Time Zone
GMT+7 (UTC+07:00). 7 hours ahead of London, 12 hours ahead of New York, 15 hours ahead of Vancouver, 3 hours behind Sydney and 5 hours behind Auckland.
Currency
The official currency of Laos is the Lao Kip (LAK). ATMs are widely available, with most allowing withdrawals of up to 2 million LAK per transaction. Although Thai Baht and US Dollars are accepted in some tourist areas, we recommend using Lao Kip for everyday purchases. Please note that Lao Kip cannot usually be exchanged outside Laos.
